Art’s birthday
Yoko Ono is the inspiration behind this year’s birthday for ART, a party hosted by PoMoArts from 3 to 8 p.m. at its facility (2425 St. Johns St., Port Moody). Participants will use broken pottery pieces to make a mosaic on a clay slab as part of the BREAKisMAKE celebration. Tickets are $10.

Emerging Talent
Celebrate the opening of Emerging Talent 27, an annual exhibit at Place des Arts (1120 Brunette Ave.) by Grade 12 art students in School District 43. Also opening are Invisibles y desechables (Invisibles and Disposables): Temporary Foreign Workers’ life and rituals (photography and installation by Carlos Colín and Luz Rosas); and Becoming (mixed media on wood panel by Yuan Wen). The reception is at 7 p.m.

Sherlock Holmes
Enter the world of detective Sherlock Holmes in Baskerville, the second offering of the season by the Stage 43 Theatrical Society. Directed by Dale Kelly and written by Ken Ludwig, the play at 7:30 p.m. sees five actors portray more than 40 characters. Tickets are $30/$25.
