Limited-edition T-shirts promoting the Terry Fox Hometown Run in Port Coquitlam will be on sale starting Thursday, Aug. 1.
The garments, designed in by Vancouver actor Ryan Reynolds in collaboration with the Fox family, features the tagline #NoMatterWhat and an image of the local hero on his historic Marathon of Hope in 1980.
And the hometown versions for the 44th anniversary Terry Fox Run can be picked up for $25 (adult) or $20 (youth) at these locations in Port Coquitlam while supplies last:
- Port Coquitlam Community Centre (main desk, 2150 Wilson Ave.)
- Patina Brewing (2332 Marpole Ave.)
- Save-On-Foods (2385 Ottawa St.)
- Save-On-Foods (1430 Prairie Ave.)
Sizes up to 3XL are available and all proceeds go to the Terry Fox Foundation, which supports cancer research around the world.
The next Terry Fox Run takes place on Sept. 15, 2024, in Port Coquitlam, as well as Coquitlam, Port Moody and Anmore.
Volunteers are now being sought for the hometown run to help with set up and take down, registration, traffic control and cutting up oranges. To date, more than $5,000 has already been collected for the PoCo fundraiser.
