Port Coqutilam's third annual Spray Day was a wet and wild time at the Terry Fox Hometown Square behind the city's new community centre.
Especially as the water was allowed to be turned out.
While last year's event had to be mostly dry because of water restrictions in place at the time. no such limitations on fun were in effect Wednesday, July 24. That meant the fire nozzle from Port Coquitlam Fire and Rescue's aerial truck could be turned up to 11 and the wading pools were full to reload the armoury of brightly-coloured super soakers large and small.
For two hours, dozens of excited children were able to direct streams at good natured RCMP officers, community police volunteers and even firefighters. Occasional drenchings from the aerial truck reminded everyone who was truly in charge.
