Lucas Janusz is the BC Green Party candidate for Coquitlam–Burke Mountain in the Oct. 19, 2024, provincial election.

Another candidate has stepped forward to run for an MLA seat in the Tri-Cities.

This week, the BC Green Party announced Lucas Janusz is its contender in Coquitlam–Burke Mountain, a constituency held by NDP incumbent Fin Donnelly who is not running in the Oct. 19, 2024, provincial election.

Janusz’ campaign launch comes days before the writ is dropped on Saturday, Sept. 21 to signal the start of the race.

According to his online profile, Janusz has a bachelor’s degree in psychology from UBC and lives with his wife and two children in Port Moody. He immigrated to Canada at 15 and now works as a renovation project manager.

Janusz joined the BC Green Party “because he his deeply concerned about the future of our province, our country and the Earth, and believes that the best way to fight climate change is to become politically active,” his biography states.
