Restaurants, pubs and bars now have until Thursday, Jan. 30 to sign up for the annual Taste of the Tri-Cities.

Organized by the Tri-Cities Chamber of Commerce, the culinary festival follows Dine Out Vancouver and runs from Feb. 15 to March 15, 2025.

Presented by Sysco, the fest saw 77 participating eateries last year; however, in 2025, officials hope to get more than 80 on board to offer special menus and deals to patrons, as well as lift to restauranteurs during the slow season.

There is no entry fee to join Taste of the Tri-Cities, but $100 worth of gift cards from eateries is encouraged to incentivize the program and to hand out to social media contest winners.

"We are inviting all local restaurants, bakeries, breweries, pubs and cafés to be a part of this culinary event that celebrates and promotes the unique flavours of the Tri-Cities," said Chloe Wan, the Chamber’s director of strategy, in a news release.

"Participating in the Taste of the Tri-Cities campaign not only enhances your business' exposure but also contributes to the overall success and vibrancy of the local dining scene. This is your chance to showcase your culinary expertise and be featured in this celebration of food, culture and community."

Chris Sunga, operations manager at Gordon Ramsay Burger, said his United Boulevard restaurant sold 407 promotional burgers during last year’s run; at the time, the business had only been open for three months, he said.

“Some guests were aware of this promo and asked for it and some did not, which we were happy to accommodate and inform them of this amazing program,” he said in the news release.

“All in all, it was a great opportunity to bring awareness to the restaurant.”

A Tri-Local effort to spur economic growth, the Taste of the Tri-Cities is partnered with the Austin Heights BIA, Downtown PoCo BIA, Global BC, City of Coquitlam, City of Port Coquitlam, City of Port Moody and the Tri-City News.
