'12 Days of Christmas' in Port Coquitlam includes Buddy the Elf

The "Tri-City News" is sponsoring Christmas in the Square in Port Coquitlam on Saturday, Nov. 30, which kicks off the city's 12 Days of Christmas campaign.

Buddy the Elf is back in Port Coquitlam to kick off the city's 12 Days of Christmas.

The holiday campaign begins at noon on Saturday, Nov. 30, with Christmas in the Square in the Port Coquitlam Community Centre (2150 Wilson Ave.), featuring the roving entertainer.

This year’s party also includes an artisan market, beer garden and performances from the Collage Singers, Carmelina Cupo Trio, Beauty Shop Dolls, Phat Santa Swing and Legato Music.

And, with the Canada Post strike on, kids can send their gift wishes directly to Santa, who will be on hand for photos at the event until 8 p.m. (pictures are by donation for PoCo Heritage).

At 5 p.m., city officials will flip the switch at Christmas tree lighting ceremony outside the rec centre.

PoCo breweries Patina, PoCo Brothers, Taylight and Tinhouse, as well as Nice Life Co., will pour their suds while Dos Amigos, Cassandra Cake Co., Me-N-Ed’s and Operation BBQ will serve food.

The Tri-City News is a sponsor of Christmas in the Square.
