Three Port Coquitlam actors are cast in the next production from Theatre in the Country.
The Langley company presents the Broadway musical Mary Poppins from Nov. 28 to Dec. 14, featuring PoCo residents:
- Elisabeth Pollock
- as Fannie
- Kevin Staley
- as the park keeper
- Ashlyn O’Shea
- in the ensemble
Based on the Disney classic and P.L. Travers’ stories, the show stars Terrelle Klose as Mary Poppins and Patrick Arnott as Bert, the characters made famous by Julie Andrews and Dick van Dyke in the 1964 flick.
It also includes an iconic score with such tunes as A Spoonful of Sugar, Chim Chim Cher-ee, and Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious.
Directed by Dann Wilhelm, with choreography by Stef Delisimunovic and musical direction from Tamara Croft, the musical is fun for all ages.
"We’re thrilled to bring Mary Poppins to Langley and to invite families and friends to join us for an unforgettable evening of live theatre,” said Reg Parks, Theatre in the Country’s artistic director, in a news release.
"This production is a labour of love and we can’t wait to share its joy and magic with our community."
For tickets, you can call Theatre in the Country (5708 Glover Rd.) at 604-259-9737 or visit the company’s website.
