Kick for a Cure

Support the Michael Cuccione Foundation, a charity funding childhood cancer research at BC Children’s Hospital, at its annual Kick for a Cure at the Percy Perry Stadium at Coquitlam's Town Centre Park (1299 Pinetree Way). The fundraiser is from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and includes soccer games and clinics on the fields, as well as a kids zone, food and a giant TV to watch Euro 2024. The event is in partnership with the Coquitlam Metro-Ford Soccer Club and Vancouver Whitecaps FC.

Repair Café

Keep your broken or ripped items out of the landfill and have them fixed — for free — by Port Coquitlam volunteers. The Repair Café runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the public works yard (1737 Broadway St.).

Free art workshop

Families can tour the Michael Wright Art Gallery at Port Coquitlam’s Leigh Square (next to city hall) and make an art piece based on the current shows. The Art in the Gallery program runs on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to noon. There is no cost to attend. Art supplies will be provided. No registration is required.

Food fest

Grab some food from one of the 24 vendors on site at the Worldwide Food Festival, a fundraiser for the Low Entropy Foundation. The feast is from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Coquitlam's Town Centre Park (1299 Pinetree Way) and includes multicultural performances and market vendors, as well as a kids zone. Prospera Credit Union is the presenting sponsor while the Tri-City News is a media sponsor.

Vintage fashion

Get dolled up to see a vintage evening wear fashion show hosted by Ivan Sayers. The event is on from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. at Place des Arts (1120 Brunette Ave.) and is a fundraiser for the Coquitlam Heritage Society. Refreshments will be served and prizes will be awarded in a draw. Tickets are $70.

Summer art

Check out the original art at the PoMo Summer Art Market, on from 3 to 9 p.m. at PCI on Spring Warehouse (3006 Spring St.), near the Moody Centre SkyTrain station. The event includes DJ music, an interactive mural, a licensed pop-up bar, snacks by Gabi & Jules and kids activities.

Legion music

Dance to the music of O’Toole’s, which plays at the Coquitlam branch of the Royal Canadian Legion (1025 Ridgeway Ave.) from 7 to 11 p.m.

Sport your Coquitlam Adanacs jersey to cheer on the home team at the Poirier Sport and Leisure Complex (633 Poirier St.). Today’s match at 7 p.m. is versus the Victoria Shamrocks.
