Walk with experts

Join the Burke Mountain Naturalists on a flat-loop walk along the eastern areas of Port Coquitlam, including the Hyde Creek Nature Reserve and the Blakeburn Lagoons. The nine-kilometre trek starts at 9 a.m.

PoCo sports fest

The Port Coquitlam Sports Alliance is back this weekend with its community festival at Gates Park (2300 Reeve St.) and Port Coquitlam Community Centre (2150 Wilson Ave.). Try your hand at activities such as rugby, karate and cricket. Check the website for dates and times.

Comedy night

Grab a seat at the Evergreen Cultural Centre in Coquitlam (1205 Pinetree Way) to see the Jokers Canada comedians at the Coquitlam Comedy Classic. The show starts at 7 p.m.

Indigenous voices

The Coquitlam Heritage Society will screen a series of short films that focus on Indigenous culture and relations, starting at 7 p.m. at Mackin House in Coquitlam (1116 Brunette Ave.). There is no cost to attend; however, registration is required.

Legion music

Dance to the music of Under Fire, which plays at the Coquitlam branch of the Royal Canadian Legion (1025 Ridgeway Ave.) from 7 to 11 p.m.

Movie night

The Brand New Testament, a dark comedy by the Belgian filmmaker Jaco Van Dormael, will roll in the Inlet Theatre inside Port Moody City Hall (100 Newport Dr.) at 7:30 p.m. The 2015 movie is in French and German, with subtitles in English. Admission is $5 (cash or cheque only) plus a $5 annual membership to the Port Moody Film Society.
