Port Moody market

Metro Vancouver vendors will sell produce, meat and other fare at the last Port Moody Summer Farmers Market of 2024. It runs from 3 to 7 p.m. in the parking lot south of the Port Moody Recreation Complex (300 Ioco Rd.). The market is courtesy of the Grow Local Society.

Provincial housing

Coquitlam city staff will be at the YMCA (555 Emerson St., Coquitlam) from 5 to 8 p.m. for an information session about the provincial housing legislation. Presentation materials are posted on the city’s website and a survey is open until Nov. 3.

Live art demo

Coquitlam artist Rose Kapp will offer a live demonstration at the Town Centre Park Community Centre (1207 Pinetree Way, Coquitlam) from 5 to 7 p.m. as part of the City of Coquitlam’s visual art exhibition at the facility and at the Maillardville Community Centre, and part of Culture Days. There is no cost to attend.

RCMP recruitment

Coquitlam RCMP will host the BC RCMP recruiting team at a career information session at the Port Coquitlam Community Centre (2150 Wilson Ave.) from 6 to 9 p.m. Attendees will have an opportunity to learn about the application process, police academy training and hear first-hand accounts from Coquitlam RCMP and BC RCMP officers. The hiring fair takes place in Mabbett Hall; participants are asked to arrive by 5:45 p.m. for the 6 p.m. presentation.

Co-exist with wildlife

Port Coquitlam residents can learn how to safely co-exist with bears in an information session at the Port Coquitlam Community Centre (2150 Wilson Ave.). City staff will talk about bear behaviours in an urban environment and how to reduce conflict by managing bear attractants. The two-hour event starts at 7:30 p.m.
