Fresh food

Tour the Port Moody Farmers Market between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. to chat with the vendor and pick up some fruits, vegetables, meats, baked goods and other wares. The market is in the parking lot of the Port Moody Recreation Complex (300 Ioco Rd.).

Happy new year

The Golden Maple Multicultural Society is back with its seventh annual spring festival gala. Sponsored by WealthOne Financial and co-organized by Hotspot Media, the afternoon show is from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Terry Fox Theatre and secondary (1260 Riverwood Gate, Port Coquitlam) while the evening show is from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tickets are $20 (no cost for kids seven and under). The temple fair is from 1:30 to 8 p.m. and is free to the public.

Catch a home hockey game between the Port Moody Panthers and Coastal Tsunami at the Port Moody Recreation Complex (300 Ioco Rd.) at 6:15 p.m.

Roots singer

Alberta-based musician T. Buckley is at the Evergreen Cultural Centre in Coquitlam (1205 Pinetree Way) for an acoustic show with his trio to play original and cover tunes and to tell stories at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $41/$37/$16.
