CCAC will close in September 2024 for its annual cleaning.

A public pool in Coquitlam will get a scrub in September.

The City Centre Aquatic Complex (CCAC), next to Coquitlam City Hall and across from Town Centre Park, will temporarily close for its annual cleaning from Tuesday, Sept. 3 to Sunday, Oct. 6.

The pool at 1210 Pinetree Way is scheduled to reopen on Monday, Oct. 7.

The spruce-up includes:

  • a deep clean of the tanks and fitness centres
  • including equipment, lockers, change rooms, showers, lifejackets and pool toys
  • a tile regrout and paint touch up
  • an inspection and service for mechanical systems

The CCAC fitness area will shut from Tuesday, Sept. 3 to Monday, Sept. 9 and reopen on Tuesday, Sept. 10; until Oct. 6, while the pool is being updated, the gym hours will be:

  • Monday to Friday, 5:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m.
  • Saturday, 5:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
  • closed on Sundays

During the CCAC upkeep, residents and visitors can travel up the hill to the Poirier Sport and Leisure Complex (633 Poirier St., Coquitlam) for a swim, drop-in fitness class or workout. Or, for outdoor swimming, the Eagle Ridge Pool (2689 Guildford Way, Coquitlam) — three blocks west of CCAC — is open for a free dip until Oct. 6.
