Several victims suffered serious but non-life threatening injuries during the incident that was discovered when Port Moody police responded to a tip to check on the wellness of residents at a home in the city’s Heritage Woods neighbourhood early Sunday, April 28.

“This was a targeted and violent home invasion with the objective of stealing cryptocurrency,” said Port Moody police spokesperson Acting Sgt. Sam Zacharias in a news release.

He added the department’s Major Crimes Section is continuing its investigation to identify further suspects.

Zacharias said the home invasion wasn’t associated with gangs or organized crime.
