A drug investigation targeting several known drug traffickers in the Tri-Cities has resulted in six arrests of suspects ranging in age from 28 to 35.
Coquitlam RCMP’s Drugs and Organized Crime Section launched EPRAWNS in the fall of 2022, which last month concluded with search warrants executed on locations in Port Coquitlam, Burnaby and Surrey and allegedly turning up:
- about two ounces of suspected cocaine
- about 22 grams of pre-packaged suspected cocaine
- about four ounces of suspected benzodiazepine
- about 14 ounces of suspected crack cocaine
- about $150,000 in Canadian and American currency
The suspects have been released pending charge approval by the BC Prosecution Service.
“The proactive enforcement by Coquitlam’s Drugs and Organized Crime Section resulted in a significant disruption to criminal activity by removing drugs and preventing them from entering our communities,” said Insp. Aaron Lloyd, Coquitlam RCMP’s Operations Support Officer, in a news release.
“The Coquitlam RCMP is committed to reducing community harm by targeting drug traffickers that prey on the vulnerable for their own personal gain.”
