A philanthropic organization that lifts up students and groups in Coquitlam doled out $210,495 in scholarships and grants this month.
On Wednesday, June 5, the Coquitlam Foundation, which manages a portfolio of more than $8 million to support students with their post-secondary education and sport fees as well as nonprofits, distributed the funds at its annual Awards Night.
Held at the Evergreen Cultural Centre in Coquitlam, the event saw the award recipients recognized before donors, community leaders, volunteers and guests; the Heritage Woods Secondary’s jazz combo under Kathy Fester also entertained the crowd.
