Flexing abilities of the body, mind and soul.
Undoubtedly, yoga can have it's positive effects on anyone looking for middle ground, whether it be physically, mentally and even spiritually.
Port Moody is hosting a free "Yoga in the Park" session tomorrow (June 23) in hopes of helping local residents achieve those goals while engaging with the community and enjoying the outdoors in the process.
Expert instructors are set to lead a one-hour course of Hatha Yoga — a branch of modern yoga that moves the body slowly and deliberately into different poses in order to challenge strength and flexibility, and focus on relaxation.
The event's description says the class is open for residents aged 13 years and older, and designed for all fitness levels.
Interested participants are asked to bring their own mat, towel and water bottle.
Pre-registration is required, the city says.
Weather dependent, "Yoga in the Park" is set for Thursday from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. in front of Rocky Point Park's Pacific Coast Terminal (PCT) Performance Stage.
To register and to find more information, you can visit the event's page on the City of Port Moody's website.
