Port Moody–Coquitlam MP hosts tax session for disabled residents

MP Bonita Zarrillo will be joined by CPA and CGA Jenna Yuill to talk about taxes, credits and benefits for Canadians with a disability.

Tri-City residents with disabilities can log in with Port Moody–Coquitlam MP Bonita Zarrillo this week to get tips about taxes.

The NDP member of parliament will host a virtual presentation on Wednesday, Nov. 27, at 6 p.m. with accountant Jenna Yuill to talk about federal programs such as the Disability Tax Credit and the Canada Caregiver Benefit that are available to eligible Canadians.

The session will also guide participants on how to apply for credits and benefits and “empower individuals and families with valuable information to maximize financial support and navigate the application process effectively,” Zarrillo’s office stated in a news release.

Yuill is a Chartered Professional Accountant and Certified General Accountant in Coquitlam who handles personal and business taxes, bookkeeping services and software consulting.

Zarrillo is the federal NDP critic for Infrastructure and Communities, Seniors, and Disability Inclusion, and the deputy health critic.

She is a member of the standing committee on Human Resources, Skills and Social Development, as well as the Status of Persons with Disabilities.
