Re: 'It's just not OK': How a Port Moody bakery is standing up against rude, impatient customers (Nov. 5, 2024)

To the amazing people that work at Gabi & Jules bakeries: Thank you for showing us how humanity is supposed to be shown.

It requires less effort and affords us a better day to be polite than to be unreasonably rude.

The premise of your bakery is to help everyone and support those needing a bit extra considerateness.

In a world promoting inclusivity for everyone and everything, surely this should include those we encounter in a customer-service situation.

If COVID-19 taught us anything, it should be an appreciation for those willing and patient enough to work with the public in some capacity.

Why waste time being and causing misery when it is more beneficial to be understanding and patient?

Perhaps when looking in a mirror next time, we should ask if the person we see is a person you’d want to interact with.

We all live in the same world so let’s make it as welcoming and considerate as we can, for as long as we can.
