The window is now open for students, young athletes and non-profit groups to apply for cash from the Coquitlam Foundation.
The deadline is March 31, 2025, for candidates to submit a bid to the philanthropic organization that, this year, handed out more than $210,000 in awards at an event at the Evergreen Cultural Centre.
The foundation’s scholarships are available for high-achieving students heading to a post-secondary institution in programs like business, science and trades; besides good grades, applicants also need to show their financial need as well as commitment to their chosen field.
For grants, nonprofits and community groups involved in healthcare, the arts, food security and environmental conservation, for example, can also apply for funding for their operations and projects.
“The Coquitlam Foundation is dedicated to empowering change makers and supporting the dreams of our future leaders,” said Carol Brodie, the foundation’s executive director, in a news release.
“By investing in individuals and organizations, we aim to foster innovation, resilience and growth in our communities.”
The recipients will be notified in April or May, with the awards distributed by the foundation on June 4, 2025.
To fill out an online form for a scholarship or grant, you can visit the Coquitlam Foundation website. Donations are also accepted through the Canada Helps website.
