"Get Out," a new featured column by the Tri-City News, is an opportunity for community, sports and arts groups to get the word out about their programs and activities.

Introducing.... Coquitlam Minor Hockey Association.

This summer, take to the ice!

Coquitlam Minor Hockey Association (CHMA) has opened its summer development camp registration for athletes looking to improve on their skills ahead of the upcoming 2024-25 season.

This includes U7, U9, U11, U13, U15 and U18 players.

The camps will take place at Poirier Sport and Leisure Complex (633 Poirier St.) and Planet Ice Coquitlam (2300 Rocket Way).

Skills the athletes will work on, both fundamental and advanced, will range from backwards skating, edging and pivots to rebound control, small area battles and 2-on-1 situations.

The camps are open to CMHA players only and run over three weeks between Aug. 12 to 30.

As well, get your little ones started in this exciting game.

Registration is open for Mini C's for interested kids aged four and five. Phase 1 of the program runs from Oct. 20 to Dec. 15 with Phases 3 and 3 to be announced at a later date.

To register, you can visit the Coquitlam Minor Hockey Association's website or email [email protected].
