Residents looking to help out people displaced by Monday night's apartment fire on Glen Drive can now make donations at a local financial institution.

The Coast Capital Savings branch in Coquitlam has set up a fund in the name of "Coquitlam Fire Victims" and residents are encouraged to contribute.

The city said a website would also be setup later today (Wednesday) to facilitate donations, but contact can still be made at [email protected].

On Tuesday, there was a donation drop-off at Eagle Ridge United Church, but the truck that was provided for the event was filled beyond capacity and no further goods and clothing items are being collected at this time.

Monday night's fire left close to 100 people homeless, as fire ripped through a 72-unit building in the 2900-block of Glen Drive.

Investigators were still combing debris to find out what caused the blaze, which moved quickly through the air space in the ceiling.

More to come...
