Food samples still off the menu at Port Coquitlam Costco

Going to Costco has always meant two things to me.

One, I could find enough of one item to not have to worry about it for an entire year. Two, my daughter could stuff herself on just the food samples.

Costco is a great place to shop for parents of young kids because they are always hungry when you’re out shopping.

COVID-19 put an end to that, although things are changing south of the border as the company’s U.S. outlets are going to offer the hot and cold bites again.

Despite plans to resume food sampling at U.S. Costco stores this month, however, the warehouse giant says there are no plans to reinstate it any time soon at Canadian stores.

That means, in addition to the store's mask policy and social distancing measures, you can’t sample those yummy treats at the Port Coquitlam Costco location.

Costco did not say when food sampling would return in Canada.

Is Costco making the right decision here in Canada? Would you eat the samples if they started to be offered again?

Costco has also limited its fast-food menu, where it sells hot dogs, pizza and other items. With food courts closed, takeout-only continues and customers have to ask store employees for condiments.
