Board games

Adults can have fun and meet new people to play board games at the Poirier branch of the Coquitlam Public Library (575 Poirier St., Coquitlam) at 6 p.m. Entry is free; registration is not needed. The event is in partnership with Mind Games.

Shield Maiden

Warrior, leader and motivational speaker Ingrid Larsdottir uncovers the untold truth of Viking shield maidens in a performance titled Shield Maiden by Melanie Teichroeb. The 7:30 p.m. show is a study of sexism, gender bias, sexual freedom and trauma. Tickets are $47/$40/$16.

Something Rotten

Musical theatre students at Terry Fox Secondary (1260 Riverwood Gate, Port Coquitlam) present Something Rotten, a show directed and choreographed by Zelda Coertze with musical direction from Taylor Mckee. Tickets are $10 in advance or $15 at the door on show nights. The curtain rises at 7:30 p.m.
