Coquitlam Mounties are working with school district officials to identify an older teen or young man seen hanging out at and around Maillard Middle School.
In a news release issued this afternoon, June 7, RCMP say they’re trying to find the person who is suspected of committing a series of indecent acts in the vicinity of the Rochester Avenue school.
It’s believed the incidents took place between Monday, May 27, 2024, and Tuesday, June 4, 2024, between noon and 2 p.m.
He has not approached anyone, Coquitlam RCMP Cpl. Alexa Hodgins said in the release; however, investigators suggest the incidents were carried out by the same person, who is unknown to police.
Coquitlam RCMP’s victim services is also involved in the investigation.
The suspect is described as:
- White
- late teens to 25 years old
- slim build
- 5’9” to 6’ tall
- dirty blonde to light brown short curly hair
- stubble around his chin
He typically wears:
- a dark hoodie
- sweatpants
- slide sandals
- a black backpack
“These incidents occurred near a school during school hours. We understand that these incidents are very concerning and can be traumatic to everyone involved,” Hodgins said in the news release.
“We are asking anyone who may have information, video surveillance or dash-cam or may have seen something suspicious around Maillard Middle School between the times of 11:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. to contact our investigators.”
