Arc'teryx opened Sept. 14, 2024, at Coquitlam Centre mall.

There’s a new clothing store for outdoor adventurists at Coquitlam Centre.

On Saturday, Sept. 14, the North Vancouver-based Arc’teryx opened a retail shop in the mall between lululemon and American Eagle Outfitters.

It’s the most recent outlet for the business that specializes in outdoor clothing and gear, following store openings this spring on Bloor Street in Toronto, as well as in Kelowna.

Arc'teryx now has Lower Mainland stores in:

  • Coquitlam
  • Metrotown
  • Vancouver
  • Park Royal
  • Kitsilano
  • Richmond
  • North Vancouver

Arc'teryx has a name and logo that reference the archaeopteryx — a bird-like dinosaur (the brand is often known as “dead bird”).

Established in 1989 as Rock Solid, the company rebranded as Arc'teryx in 1991. It was sold to the Salomon Group in 2001 and, four years later, to Amer Sports, a Finnish retailer.

Recently, the company has co-created collections with high-end fashion brands and designers for street wear.
