Between an art-ful fashion show, Spirit Week festivities galore and the post-Valentine's Day glow, this weekend is set to be a good one.

POCO SPIRIT WEEK
The Spirit Week festivities continue in Port Coquitlam and kick off this weekend with a Jelly Bean Dance (wear something red to show your PoCo spirit) at the Hyde Creek rec centre (1379 Laurier Ave.) from 6:15 to 9:15 p.m. for kids in Grades 4 to 6. Tickets are $6/$8, available at www.portcoquitlam.ca/jellybean. The second annual Swim-a-thon, also at Hyde Creek, runs from 7 to 10 p.m. and raises money for at-risk PoCo youth to help with the cost of aquatics and lifeguarding courses. And for teens who want to squeeze in a late-night skate, the PoCo rec complex (2150 Wilson Ave.) hosts a Spirit Youth Skate (wear red) for ages 13 to 18 from 10:15 to 11:15 p.m. Admission and rentals are $2 or free with a PoCo youth access card.

WEARABLE ART
It's an art show unlike any other, and never fails to wow the crowds. Instead of paintings hung on the wall, models will be showing off these works of art on the runway - as many as 70 pieces will be featured in the 10th Wearable Art Awards. Entries have come from across Canada, Australia and Europe, and include pieces in categories ranging from best use of silk (material of the year) to best use of '100' (to mark Port Moody's centennial). The Wearable Art Awards run Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday at 6:30 p.m. at the Galleria (100 Newport Dr.). SALSA YOUR HEART OUT
Join the Latin fun at the Hot Salsa Dance Zone's fifth annual Valentine's Dance Night at the Evergreen Cultural Centre (1205 Pinetree Way, Coquitlam). A free salsa/bachata/merengue dance lesson starts at 7:30 p.m., followed by the dance party from 8:30 p.m. to midnight. No experience and no partner are required, and everyone gets a Valentine's chocolate. Singles and couples are welcome. Tickets are $10/$12 at www.hotsalsadancezone.com or at the door.
TASTE POCO SPIRIT
Sip on great wines and enjoy food from Earl's Restaurants at the Taste of PoCo Spirit Wine Tasting, taking place at Leigh Square (2253 Leigh Square) from 7 to 9 p.m. to celebrate the city's centennial year. HOCKEY NIGHT
The Coquitlam Express are back on home ice tonight and they'll be up against the Nanaimo Clippers in Junior A hockey action as the Express fight to win a playoff berth with just a handful of regular season games left to go. KIDS LOVE FOOTE
Juno-winning children's entertainer Norman Foote will be taking the stage at the Evergreen Cultural Centre (1205 Pinetree Way, Coquitlam) at 2 p.m. Foote is known for drawing on his theatrical and comedic talents to tackle challenging subjects in ways that engage and entertain both the kids and adults in the audience. He'll be joined by the children's choirs from Coastal Sound Music Academy and Blakeburn and Aspenwood elementary schools.
