When ya gotta go, ya gotta go.
Thankfully, washrooms are open in many public parks, giving relief to Tri-City residents when they are out and about.
But finding one when you need it can be tricky until a map was made available identifying dozens of washrooms in Metro Vancouver and the Tri-Cities.
Metro Vancouver put together the map to aid residents in locating public washrooms and since April, more than 40,000 people have accessed the washroom finder.
The map’s use has extended beyond park-goers, according to Metro Vancouver.
The map has been shared with the B.C. Trucking Association, the Canadian Food Inspection Agency, Southwest Regional Provincial Regional Emergency Operations Centre, and ride share and taxi associations.
It allows business people who are on the move to locate washrooms quickly and easily.

Meanwhile, if you’ve noticed Metro Vancouver parks are busier than usual you are witnessing a trend likely tied to COVID-19 and people’s need to get out of the house.
Park use has increased 61% since May compared to this time last year, according to the regional authority that owns and manages several Tri-City parks, including Colony Farm Regional Park and Minnekhada Regional Park in Coquitlam as well as Belcarra Regional Park.
To ensure park visitors social distance, Metro Vancouver workers are talking to people reminding them to stay two metres apart to reduce the spread of COVID-19.
According to the latest figures produced in Metro Vancouver’s monthly newsletter, park staff have had nearly 136,000 interactions with park-goers to ensure they keep a safe distance.
