Police are asking for the public’s assistance in locating a man who has been reported unlawfully at large from the Forensic Psychiatric Hospital in Coquitlam.
The RCMP said Ajia Richardson has been missing since 7 p.m. Wednesday and is now wanted on a warrant of committal under the Criminal Code after he failed to return to the facility at the designated time while out on a short-term day pass.
Richardson is described as a 36-year-old with short brown hair and brown eyes, who is six feet two inches tall (188 cm) and weighs approximately 194 pounds (88 kg). He was last seen wearing a black jacked, white sneakers, beige pants and a white T-shirt.
“Richardson may behave in a way that presents a risk to himself or the public,” Mounties said in a statement. “So if you see him, police ask that you not approach Richardson and instead call 911 immediately.”
