Citizen survey underway in Coquitlam

Ipsos Reid will be calling 500 residents to gauge their priorities as city prepares for the budget process
A randomly selected group of Coquitlam residents will be getting a phone call from Ipsos Reid as the city's annual Citizen Satisfaction Survey gets underway.

A randomly selected group of Coquitlam residents will be getting a phone call from Ipsos Reid as the city's annual Citizen Satisfaction Survey gets underway.

Questions for the statistically valid survey will help city staff gauge its performance and set priorities as it prepares for its budget process, according to the city.

"A citizen satisfaction survey provides excellent input to the ongoing measurement, benchmarking and improvement of public service performance," the city said in a press release. "Citizen surveys are used by municipalities across the country to better understand citizens' views about the delivery of public service, their expectations, and what they see as priorities."

A total of 500 telephone interviews will be conducted between now and Dec. 6. Participation in the survey is not mandatory, but strongly encouraged, the city added.
