Is cold brew coffee hard to find in the Tri-Cities? Metro Vancouver? How about all of Canada?
Perhaps a fitting question for Juliette Lewis' character, Natalie, on Showtime's Yellowjackets, which tells the story of a high-school soccer team whose plane crashed into the Canadian wilderness while en route to a national tournament.
The Hollywood actress took to social media today (Sept. 7) in hopes someone could be her saving grace in finding a cold cup of coffee while reportedly filming season two of the award-winning series in the region.
To her surprise and relief, she came across Coquitlam's Coffeeholic, and magically, her life returned to peace.
"I really found my safe space," Lewis said in a video posted to her Instagram story.
"Thank you so much Coffeeholic. I feel welcome, I feel loved [and] cared for."
Prior to discovering the local business — located at 6-405 North Rd. next to the Executive Plaza Hotel — Lewis posted a public plea for a Metro Vancouver coffee shop that served cold brew.
Signed "grouchy under caffeinated" actress, the 49-year-old Academy and Golden Globe nominee initially asked why B.C., and Canada, haven't caught the movement "in the coffee game."
"I can barely find it here! Plz help. Need to work. To function. Really."
The post went viral with 35,000 views and nearly 250 comments from fans coming to her rescue with recommendations like Tim Hortons, Starbucks, Save-On-Foods and JJ Bean.
"Fellow Canadians, we must work together to caffeinate our beloved Juliette," said one poster.
"We have it here," many commented.
"Lol. B.C. has cold brew in grocery stories. Even Walmart in Burquitlam has a few brands to choose from," replied another.
Good fortune stumbled on Lewis when she found Coffeeholic, a "rando chain who gets it," she explained.
"I'm so excited because you guys have cold brew," Lewis said in another Instagram story video.
After she got her cold brew with no ice, she sat in the shop to marvel at its coffee bean "Welcome" sign.
Lewis has starred in classic films like August: Osage County, Natural Born Killers, Due Date (with Robert Downey Jr.) and 1991's Cape Fear, for which she was nominated for Best Actress in a Supporting Role at the Academy Awards.
