Video: Coquitlam Mounties seek suspect who spat on McDonald's staff

“We take reports of workplace violence very seriously as everyone deserves to feel safe at work,” said Coquitlam RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Alexa Hodgins. 

Coquitlam Mounties released a video today, May 15, of a McDonald’s employee being spat while working at a drive-thru.

Police are hoping the reel will help identify the suspect, who assaulted the female worker at the restaurant at 2725 Barnet Hwy. on Wednesday, May 1, as he drove up to the window on an electric scooter.

When the employee told him he couldn’t place an order because he wasn’t in a vehicle, he spat on her.

“We take reports of workplace violence very seriously as everyone deserves to feel safe at work,” said detachment spokesperson Cpl. Alexa Hodgins in a news release. 

“We are asking anyone who may recognize this man to contact Coquitlam RCMP at 604-945-1550.”

The suspect is described as:

  • a man in his 30s or 40s
  • Slim build
  • Dark short beard
  • Wearing....
    • a light grey bicycle helmet
    • a dark jacket with two white lines down the shoulder and arms
    • a light blue shirt
    • dark pants
    • dark backpack
