Reports that missing Coquitlam grandfather Shin Noh may have been seen on the bus and Skytrain in New Westminster and Burnaby, has his son reaching out to store owners and TransLink employees to see if anyone has seen his dad.

"Please raise the awareness in New West, Burquitlam, Metrotown and surrounding areas by talking to businesses and locals in the area. If Shin is in the New West area, he may be using washrooms at these locations (stores at Columbia, malls like Royal Centre)So maybe search areas should also be nearby stores and the malls (food court maybe where he is eating leftovers and using the washroom). Many in this area are unaware of dad's disappearance," Sam Noh told supporters on Facebook this week.

Noh told The News that by casting the net wider, volunteers will have to work even harder to get the word out to people, most of whom haven't heard about the missing man.

"It's always a few days after (when we get reports of sightings) and we are lagging behind right now; we have to expand the radius."

According to Noh, the latest sightings of a man that could have been Noh have come from Korean people and he hopes the Korean media steps up to get the word out.

One woman reportedly saw a scruffy-looking Korean man wearing a black cap and matching Noh's description get on the C9 community shuttle on Columbia Street in New Westminster on Oct.1, and another woman saw a man matching Noh's dad's description near the Columbia Street Skytrain station.

Other possible sightings are being followed up and volunteers are asked to canvas new areas including;

NEW AREAS TO LOOK

Burquitlam (Lougheed Mall, North Road, Along Lougheed towards Brentwood)

Sapperton (local businesses along Columbia by Royal Columbian Hospital)

New Westminster Station and Columbia Station (local businesses, churches, homes, the New Westminster Quay towards the River)

Royal Centre Mall and surrounding businesses

Queens Park/Moody Park

Towards High Gate Burnaby

People are asked to check public washrooms, shopping malls, food banks, homeless shelters, stairwells, parkades, and Skytrain stations.

Noh suffers from Alzheimer's and may be confused, he is also likely to have a salt-and pepper beard. Shin Noh was last seen on Wednesday, Sept. 18 at 10:30 a.m. He is described as Korean, standing 5'6'', average build, with short black and grey hair.

He was last wearing a green, navy blue, yellow, long-sleeved plaid shirt and dark green pants, and a black New York Rangers ball cap.
