Two Girl Guide leaders who call the Tri-Cities home will soon be recipients of the King Charles III Coronation Medal.
Port Coquitlam’s Linda Knight, a mentor in the Chimo district, and Carissa Konesky of Port Moody, a Guider involved in a number of provincial duties for the organization, are among 64 Girl Guide members in B.C. — and 305 volunteers across Canada — to get the hardware for their exceptional achievements.
The presentations will be made at special award ceremonies this spring.
As well, Coquitlam-Port Coquitlam MP Ron McKinnon handed out the decorations recently to other deserving individuals.
At the March 11 council meeting, McKinnon presented Port Coquitlam Mayor Brad West with a medal while on Feb. 25, the Liberal MP offered the accolades to six members of the British Columbia Regiment for their service to the community and country.
