Arts Auction

The online auction to support arts education through Place des Arts (1120 Brunette Ave., Coquitlam) opens at 9 a.m. today. The fundraiser includes prizes such as cultural experiences, gift certificates and travel opportunities. The virtual auction via the 32auctions.com platform closes Nov. 4 at 9 p.m.

Quilters' Guild

The Blue Mountain Quilters' Guild presents its 2023 Quilt Show "Together Again" at Maple Creek Middle School (3700 Hastings St., Port Coquitlam) today from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Entry is $10 cash; no cost for kids under 12. Proceeds from this year's raffle quilt will support the Talitha Koum Society and Tri-City Transitions Society. This year, the guild has donated more 330 quilts to local organizations.

Plant in the Park

Help the City of Port Moody install native trees and shrubs at Bert Flinn Park. Meet at the entrance at David Avenue at 11 a.m. Wear appropriate clothing and bring a water bottle. Gloves, eye protection and tools will be provided. Teens ages 14 and under must be accompanied by an adult.

Jam Session

Bring your instruments to Port Moody's Pioneer Park (275 Knowle St.) for a communal jam session with Adam Faber and his Lethbridge Privateers, from noon to 2 p.m. Songbooks with easy-to-play tunes will be provided. All ages are welcome.

Watercolours for Teens

Teenagers can explore watercolour painting in a beginners workshop from 1:30 to 3 p.m. at the Terry Fox Library in Port Coquitlam (2150 Wilson Ave.). The topics include mixing colours, hand and water control and brush strokes. No experience is necessary and supplies will be provided.

Halloween Howl

Get your costume on for the City of Port Coquitlam’s annual Halloween Howl at the Hyde Creek Recreation Centre (1379 Laurier Ave.). As well, the Anmore Manor (1151 Robin Way, Anmore) is back open for another Halloween season to frighten visitors. Entry is by a donation to the SHARE food bank.
