Christie art
Leanne M. Christie, world-renowned urban oil painter of Coquitlam, opens her new exhibit at PoMoArts called Even If I Wasn’t Here, a show that runs until July 8 at the art gallery (2425 St. Johns St., Port Moody). Also launching is Pat Calihou’s Connecting with our Culture Through the Places We Sit; Fall Flat by Kosar Movahedi (a Kwi Am Choi scholarship recipient); and True Colours, a youth Pride exhibit. The reception is from 6 to 8 p.m.

Rock the Fox
Rock School music students at Terry Fox Secondary in Port Coquitlam (1260 Riverwood Gate) host Rock the Fox, a concert of rock covers and original tunes. Tickets are $5 for the 7 p.m. show.

Homecoming
Urban Ink Theatre presents the world premiere of Homecoming at the Evergreen Cultural Centre in Coquitlam (1205 Pinetree Way). Penned by Kamila Sediego and directed by Hazel Venzon, the show at 7:30 p.m. centres on three generations of Filipina women in the Philippines and Canada. Tickets are $45/$38/$16.
