Heron walk

Join the Burke Mountain Naturalists and heron experts Judy and Jim Atkinson for a walk in Port Moody. Meet at 10 a.m. at Old Orchard Park (630 Alderside Rd.) to learn about the city’s Great Blue Heron colony and its habitat. Bring your binoculars.

Torch Run

Cheer on the Coquitlam Mounties taking part in the annual Law Enforcement Torch Run in support of Special Olympics B.C. Runners will complete a 2.6-km run/walk starting from the detachment (2986 Guildford Way, Coquitlam) at 11:30 a.m. The party is from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Buchanan Square (south of Coquitlam City Hall).

Zoning information

Join Port Moody city staff as they talk about the impact of the new provincial housing legislation on local projects. Learn about the updates to the city’s zoning bylaw, including changes to small-scale, multi-unit housing and in transit-oriented areas. The presentation is at the Inlet Theatre inside Port Moody City Hall (100 Newport Dr.) from 5 to 7 p.m. and includes a question and answer period.
