PoCo Farmers Market
Shop for fresh fruits, vegetables, meat, prepared meals and beverages at the 17th Port Coquitlam Farmers Market, which runs from 3 to 7 p.m. at Terry Fox Hometown Square (south of the Port Coquitlam Community Centre, 2150 Wilson Ave.). More than 45 farmers and vendors are on site. The market is run by the Fraser North Farmers Market Society.

Multicultural connections
The Low Entropy Foundation hosts Multicultural Connections from 1 to 8 p.m. at the Coquitlam Public Library (1169 Pinetree Way), a festival that celebrates Canada’s cultural, ethnic, linguistic and geographic diversity. Funded by the Government of Canada, the event includes cultural booths, performances, interactive displays, workshops, food stalls, an artisan market, educational talks and a language corner. Volunteers are needed.

Art reception
Meet artists Tamana S.H. Djuya and Maan Kaur at a reception to open their new exhibits in Port Coquitlam. Djuya has Energy and Vibration up in the Michael Wright Art Gallery at the Gathering Place in Leigh Square while Kaur is showing Beautiful Trepidation in The Outlet (behind PoCo City Hall). The reception is from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Michael Wright Art Gallery.

Persian artists
The Art Gallery at Evergreen and Coquitlam Heritage host a Persian artists gathering from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Evergreen Cultural Centre (1205 Pinetree Way, Coquitlam). Facilitated by Bita Rezaei, the event includes a gallery tour with artist Jamal Tabasinejad and curator Katherine Dennis.
