Join the Burke Mountain Naturalists on their hike to Crystal Falls in Coquitlam via the Coquitlam River Connector. The 10-km walk from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. starts at the Woodland Walk Trail, with an elevation gain of 420 m.

Load up your grocery bags with fresh fruits, vegetables and meat — and some handmade goods — at the weekly Coquitlam Farmers Market, on from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the parking lot next to the Dogwood Pavilion in Coquitlam (1655 Winslow Ave.).

Ride for Terry Fox
Hop on your bike for the inaugural Terry Fox Ride of Hope in aid of the Terry Fox Foundation, a nonprofit that raises money for cancer research. The 24-km loop along the Traboulay PoCo Trail starts at 10 a.m. from the Hyde Creek Recreation Centre (1379 Laurier Ave.). The aim is to collect $5,000 for the foundation.

Persian tunes
Learn about music and musical instruments from Iran at PoMoArts’ inaugural Summer Concert, held at 2 p.m. at the arts hub (2425 St. Johns St.). The Gomaan Trio, a group formed to experiment with the content and delivery of classical Persian music, will be at the facility to educate and perform. A meet and greet is from 3:40 to 4 p.m. Tickets for the Vancouver Inter-Cultural Orchestra (VICO) production include a glass of wine and treats from Pasta Polo. Fred Soofi, a Tri-City entrepreneur who is on the VICO board of directors, is sponsoring the event; Peller Estates is supplying the wine.

Unfold a lawn chair or lay a blanket at Rocky Point Park in Port Moody (2800-block of Murray Street) to see The Rain City 6 in the annual Summer Sundays concerts. The free show starts at 2 p.m.
