Farmers market

Load up your grocery bags with fresh fruits, vegetables and meat — and some handmade goods — at the weekly Coquitlam Farmers Market, on from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the parking lot next to the Dogwood Pavilion (1655 Winslow Ave., Coquitlam).

PoCo sports fest

The Port Coquitlam Sports Alliance is back this weekend with its community festival at Gates Park (2300 Reeve St.) and Port Coquitlam Community Centre (2150 Wilson Ave.). Try your hand at activities such as rugby, karate and cricket. Check the website for dates and times.

Summer Sundays

Unfold a lawn chair or lay a blanket at Rocky Point Park in Port Moody (2800-block of Murray Street) to see The Legendary R&B Allstars — in their last year — at the annual Summer Sundays concerts. The free show starts at 2 p.m.

Music in the Park

Grab a lawn chair or blanket and take a seat to watch the free afternoon performances at Lions Park in Port Coquitlam (2300 Lions Way). The city’s Music in the Park features a range of professional musicians from around the Lower Mainland. All ages are welcome. The event runs from 2 to 5 p.m., rain or shine. Today’s performers are the Beauty Shop Dolls, the Jason Lane Band and Matt Storm.
