PoCo sports fest
The Port Coquitlam Sports Alliance is back this weekend with its community festival at Gates Park (2300 Reeve St.) and Port Coquitlam Community Centre (2150 Wilson Ave.). Try your hand at activities such as rugby, karate and cricket. Check the website for dates and times.

Repair Café
Volunteers are at the Poirier branch of the Coquitlam Public Library (575 Poirier St.) from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. to help fix broken household items brought in by residents for repair. It is the fourth time Coquitlam has hosted a Repair Café, which is designed to keep items like clothing, furniture, electrical appliances, bikes and toys out of the landfill. There is no cost for a repair.

Free art
Families can tour the Michael Wright Art Gallery at Port Coquitlam’s Leigh Square (next to city hall) and make an art piece based on the current shows. The Art in the Gallery program runs on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to noon. There is no cost to attend. Art supplies will be provided. No registration is required.

Legion music
Dance to the music of Under Fire, which plays at the Coquitlam branch of the Royal Canadian Legion (1025 Ridgeway Ave.) from 7 to 11 p.m.

Cocktails, music
The legendary musician Jim Byrnes performs at the inaugural Summer Cocktail Concert series at the Evergreen Cultural Centre in Coquitlam (1205 Pinetree Way) for a show at 7:30 p.m. in the Studio Theatre. Cocktails will be served at 6:30 p.m. to ticket-holders. Admission is $49.

Comedy night
Grab a seat at the Inlet Theatre inside Port Moody City Hall (100 Newport Dr.) to see the Jokers Canada comedians at the Coquitlam Comedy Classic. The show starts at 7 p.m.

Sport your Coquitlam Adanacs jersey to cheer on the home team at the Poirier Sport and Leisure Complex (633 Poirier St., Coquitlam). Today’s match at 7 p.m. is versus the Langley Thunder.

Catch a free movie under the stars with the City of Port Coquitlam, which will inflate its 40’ tall silver screen at Evergreen Park (north of Prairie Avenue, off Cedar Drive) for The Marvels at 9:15 p.m. Bring a picnic, blanket, lawn chairs and drinks.
