Advance voting

You can vote early in the provincial election. To vote, you must be a Canadian citizen, 18 or older on Oct. 19, 2024, and have been a B.C. resident since April 18, 2024. Bring two pieces of ID with your photo and address. Do you know who is running for MLA? Visit the tricitynews.com, click on the "News" tab and view "BC Votes 2024" for the candidate profiles. Do you know what constituency you live in? There are five new electoral boundaries for the Tri-Cities in the 2024 race.

Fraser sunset

Take a hike with the Burke Mountain Naturalists to see the sunset over the Fraser River. The 6.5-km walk along the new PoCo Climb starts at 4:30 p.m.

Hear live music from the band Under Fire at the Royal Canadian Legion branch 263 in Coquitlam (1025 Ridgeway Ave.) from 7 to 10 p.m.

Coffeehouse tunes

It’s the 25th year of the Crossroads Coffeehouse, a fundraiser for the Crossroads Hospice Society. The 7:30 p.m. music show takes place in the Gathering Place at Leigh Square (1100-2253 Leigh Sq., next to Port Coquitlam City Hall) with Willoughby Ridge and Generations performing. Admission is $10 cash at the door.

Triangle of Sadness

Grab a seat in Inlet Theatre inside Port Moody City Hall (100 Newport Dr.) at 7:30 p.m. to see the comedy/drama Triangle of Sadness, a Swedish flick screened by the Port Moody Film Society. Admission is $5 cash/cheque plus a $5 society membership.
