Author talk

BC Libraries presents a virtual presentation with author Jessica Johns, the writer behind Bad Cree, a story about intergenerational trauma. The book was on the CBC Canada Reads 2024 list. Johns will be in conversation with author Selina Boan. The Port Moody Public Library event is from 6 to 8 p.m. in the ParkLane Room in Port Moody City Hall (100 Newport Dr.).

Map man

Meet Coquitlam resident and Coquitlam Search and Rescue volunteer Steve Chapman, best known as the “map man.” Learn about cartography and local hiking routes in the Tri-Cities. His presentation at the Burke Mountain Naturalists’ meeting starts at 7:30 p.m. at the Como Lake United Church (535 Marmont St., Coquitlam).

ROOF

Lucas Myers performs in a one-person show he wrote called ROOF, a comedy about confronting personal shortcomings. The play starts at 7:30 p.m. at the Evergreen Cultural Centre in Coquitlam (1205 Pinetree Way). Tickets are $47/$40/$16.
