911 We Care
Today is the last day to bring new and unwrapped toys to a Coquitlam RCMP office to support the 16th annual 911 We Care Toy Drive. The campaign, which is organized by the detachment’s operational communications centre, is to help the SHARE Family and Community Society reach families in need during the holiday season. Gifts should be suitable for ages 0 to 18; donations can be dropped off until Monday, Dec. 18 at the Coquitlam RCMP Main Detachment (2986 Guildford Way); the Ridgeway Community Police Office (1059 Ridgeway Ave.); and the Mary Hill Community Police Office in Port Coquitlam (2581 Mary Hill Rd.).

Choo choo
It’s the 25th year of the CP Rail Holiday Train, which rolls into Port Moody and Port Coquitlam tonight. In Port Moody, it arrives behind the recreation centre (300 Ioco Rd.) at 5:20 p.m. for the 5:45 p.m. show, and in Port Coquitlam, the train enters the West Coast Express station off Kingsway Avenue at 7:05 p.m. for the cross-Canada finale from 7:15 to 7:45 p.m. with performances from Tyler Shaw and Kieza. Make sure you bring a non-perishable item for the SHARE Family and Community Society food bank.
