Heritage Detective
Learn about Port Coquitlam's history with local resident Bryan Ness, who will be at PoCo Heritage (150-2248 McAllister Ave.) from 10 a.m. to noon to explore the city's past landscape.

Super Mario
Take the kids to see a screening of the blockbuster The Super Mario Bros. Movie featuring the voices of Chris Pratt as Mario, Anya Taylor-Joy as Princess Peach and Jack Black as Bowser. The 2023 flick will roll from noon at the Poirier branch of the Coquitlam Public Library (575 Poirier St., Coquitlam). There is no registration required. The film is for children ages five to 11; parents or caregivers must be present during the 92-minute film.

Lunchtime Music
Warren Nipp takes centre stage for the Open Air Performance Series at the Evergreen Cultural Centre in Coquitlam (1205 Pinetree Way). His free show from noon to 1 p.m. is outside the facility. Described as a fingerstyle guitar player, Nipp has been performing around the Lower Mainland for the past three decades — from festivals and concerts to private functions such as weddings. His repertoire includes a variety of genres, including classical, modern pop hits and jazz.
