Overdose Awareness
The Tri-Cities Community Action Team hosts an event in Port Moody to raise awareness about the global overdose crisis. The gathering, called Creative Expressions of Social Justice, is at Pioneer Memorial Park (275 Knowles St.) from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Artists are invited to come to showcase their work around mental health and substance relationships.

Beer + Run
Lace up your runners for the 5-km run/walk hosted by Port Coquitlam's Tinhouse Brewing (550 Sherling Pl.). The $5 fee is donated to SHARE Family and Community Services. The run along the Traboulay PoCo Trail starts and finishes at the brewery. Participants must be over the age of 19. Liquor service starts at noon.

Powder Blues
Tom Lavin and The Legendary Powder Blues band are back at Rocky Point Park in Port Moody (2800-block of Murray Street) to play the penultimate show in the Summer Sundays Concerts series. The Juno Award-winning ensemble, which is marking its 45th anniversary, is on the stage at 2 p.m. for a free show. Donations are accepted to the Crossroads Hospice Society. The series is sponsored in part by the Tri-City News.

Lived Experiences
Hear stories about the fentanyl crisis at a gathering hosted by the Low Entropy Foundation. Emcee Winston Yeung will lead the talks at the Evergreen Cultural Centre in Coquitlam (1205 Pinetree Way) from 6 to 8 p.m. Tickets are $21.25.
