Thrifty Foods has launched its annual Food For Families in-store voucher program to benefit 16 B.C. food banks this holiday season.

Customers can add either $5, $10, or $20 Food for Families vouchers to their grocery order, with the funds going towards fresh groceries for families in need, including those living in the Tri-Cities.

In 2011, the Food For Families fundraiser provided $206,000 to local food banks and has provided over $800,000 since the program began.

"We are very grateful for the ongoing support we receive from the local Thrifty Foods stores in Port Moody and Coquitlam," says Martin Wyant, CEO of Share Family and Community Services. "The Food For Families campaign is just one of many ways that Thrifty Foods and their customers have demonstrated their dedication to making the holiday season brighter for children and families in the Tri-Cities. We cannot thank them enough."
