Three mischief suspects sought for causing damage to Coquitlam Walmart

The suspects set off a fire extinguisher at the Coquitlam Centre mall location earlier this month, resulting in "significant damage," RCMP said.

A trio of apparent teenagers caused "significant damage" after setting off an unopened fire extinguisher at the Coquitlam Centre Walmart earlier this month.

No one was injured, according to Mounties, from the mischief incident at around 8 p.m. on July 2.

Officers were called to the Walmart Supercentre (2929 Barnet Hwy.), but the group of youths fled the scene, appearing to have damaged the surrounding area where the fire extinguisher was located, including products on the shelves and the aisle.

"We are extremely fortunate that no one was injured during this careless and isolated incident as the store was occupied with shoppers," said Coquitlam RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Alexa Hodgins in a release today, July 24.
