Teen stabbed in 'heavily populated' Port Coquitlam park

Three youths fled the scene in a black sedan after the incident took place, Coquitlam RCMP said.

Coquitlam RCMP is investigating a stabbing in Port Coquitlam on Monday, Oct. 21, at Terry Fox Park — south of Terry Fox Secondary.

A teen fight in a park south of Terry Fox Secondary in Port Coquitlam after school on Monday, Oct. 21, turned violent.

Police say a youth was rushed to hospital with non-life threatening injuries after an altercation at Terry Fox Park at around 2:45 p.m.

Mounties spokesperson Cpl. Alexa Hodgins told the Tri-City News today, Oct. 22, that the Riverside Drive park was “heavily populated” when the stabbing took place.

Three youth, all dressed in black, fled in a black sedan after the incident, she said.

Police are not releasing the ages or genders of the victim or suspects; she also declined to say what weapon was used or if it had been recovered.

Investigators are now asking the public to come forward if they witnessed the conflict, or have dash cam or video surveillance footage between 2:15 and 3 p.m. on Monday near Riverside Drive and Po Avenue.
