Two suspects in a robbery of a Port Moody liquor store and assault of a Good Samaritan who tried to intervene have been arrested.
Port Moody Police Department (PMPD) spokesperson, Const. Sam Zacharias, said the two youth were identified and apprehended “with help from our community.”
The robbery occurred at around 5:45 p.m., Jan. 22, at a liquor store in the city’s Inlet Centre neighbourhood. According to a news release issued Jan. 28, after a man in his 50s tried to stop one of the young people from allegedly swiping items he was beaten in the head outside the store. He suffered a concussion.
Surveillance footage released by PMPD showed two young men leaving the store, each wearing medical masks on the lower part of their faces.
Zacaharias said the department is currently preparing charges against the suspects.
