Wildfire smoke from B.C.'s interior region and south of us in Washington state is likely to remain in the skies of Metro Vancouver Tuesday.
Environment Canada indicates an Air Quality Advisory remains in effect Aug. 3 for all areas of Metro Vancouver and the Fraser Valley Regional District "because of high concentrations of fine particulate matter that are expected during the next day or two."
However, onshore winds in Tuesday's forecast could help clear the air.
The national weather agency first issued the advisory for Metro Vancouver on Sunday.
Those with chronic underlying medical conditions or acute infections, such as COVID-19, are encouraged to stay away from outdoor physical activity until the advisory is lifted.
Smoke concentrations may vary widely across the region as winds and temperatures change, and as wildfire behaviour changes, notes Environment Canada.
